For the man who follows Jesus, duty is a journey. It begins with personal faith, grows in the way we lead our families, and culminates in how we serve our world.
Why Join the Fourth Degree?
Extend Your Reach: Move beyond personal service into dedicated community and civic impact.
An Honored Legacy: The title "Sir Knight" represents a deep-seated devotion to both God and Country.
A Brotherhood of Integrity: Stand with men who value patriotism as a core pillar of their faith.
The Knights of the Patriotic Degree are committed to the growth and distinction of our Brotherhood. We provide the leadership, guidance, and encouragement necessary to help every member reach his full potential.
As Knights of the Patriotic Degree, we serve our neighbors and our nation with a heart for Christ.
The Patriotic Degree stands firm for what is right and honorable. We are dedicated to keeping God in the civic arena, supporting the mission of the Church, and defending the sanctity of life and true religious liberty.
The Color Corps is an ELECTIVE division of the Patriotic Degree, whose distinctive presence in parades, wreath-laying ceremonies, confirmations and other Catholic functions is a visible reminder of our service to the community. The tuxedo, chapeau, cape and sword worn by the Color Corps were inspired by 19th century naval uniforms, with different cape colors representing nine different program ranks. The ceremonial sword symbolizes Christian Knighthood, and is carried to signify reverence to Church, Eucharist, country and freedom. Color Corps members wear the colors with pride, knowing they represent the very best of the Knights of Columbus.
The Patriotic Degree, also known as the Fourth Degree of the Knights of Columbus, is the highest degree of the Order and is centered on the principle of Patriotism. It challenges Catholic gentlemen to deepen their commitment to Christ by faithfully serving their Church, their communities, and their country.
The Fourth Degree is not simply another level of membership—it is a call to greater leadership, public witness, and sacrificial service. A Sir Knight is expected to lead by example, demonstrating integrity, charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism in every aspect of his life.
